AJA has released a new openGear card version of the ROI-SDI called the OG-ROI-SDI. The ROI here stands for Region Of Interest. As the name suggests, it extracts a region from the source video and scales it up to fullscreen at the output. If you look closer to the product, it comes with an SDI loop out and a built-in frame synchronizer. With this in mind, users can build a video wall from a single video source with multiple OG-ROI-SDIs.
To configure the matrix, AJA provides specific control in the Dashboard user interface for this video wall application called Monitor Matrix. It supports from a 2 x 2 up to 20 x 20 matrix. Please refer to the screenshot below:
Here are some sample workflows for easier understanding:
Sample Workflow 1 - Mount three displays vertically to build a video wall with control
Sample Workflow 2 - Build a 9-display video wall with control in a 2RU space
Not to forget, a single openGear frame can host up to 10 x AJA openGear cards with redundant power. Each of the OG-ROI-SDI can be configured to accept the reference from the frame. Hence, a single reference connection would be sufficient for all the cards, making the configuration simple, neat, and easy to manage.
There you have it, a pure hardware-based 9-display video controller in a 2RU space with redundant power.
